It is a Happy New Year

new new NEW!! It's all new, and I'm so ready for it. Leaving 06' in the dust. Finally threw some pots this week, ready to break in my new (to me) kiln. Can't wait to have new work.

5 months, getting cuter by the day

Sean is 3 months old!

Time flies when you're having fun! Sean is holding up his head steadier as the days go by, smiles ALOT, and is sleeping through the night- 10pm til 6!! - That makes me smile! His latest obsession, besides his hands, is the ceiling fan. I can cure all of his ills with the flip of a switch. It works even better than the vacuum cleaner.

Baby Sean Edward Shea is here and thriving! He's now up to 9 1/2 lbs. and 21 1/4" long. It's hard work, partying and growing. As you can see, Mardis Gras was especially hard on him this week.

Here he is, helping old Mom blow out the birthday candles. He showed up just in time for my 40th.........whatta guy!

Recent Firing

Here are a couple of mugs I fired yesterday. The glazes are MC6 spearmint, raw sienna, waterfall brown, and glossy base 2 (i think) w/ some copper oxide thrown in. The clay is Tucker's Mid Cal- i love it, but i can't get it here in ohio w/o paying huge on the shipping. so sad!
i'm still looking for a warm brown stoneware that throws well and bakes well- any suggestions would be appreciated!
i'm thinking about laguna here in ohio (miller's) - anyone using a nice warm brown stoneware from them?

New Work

Not exactly new, but newer. I will be posting more pots as I get them from the kiln. I made the set of dishes (above)
for a wedding gift. They feature different animals, each stamped on a place setting.
